[Bug 533851] New: sysinfo:/ doesn't allow to open device (partition)

I mean empty place between icon and name of file system. Clicking icon doesn't do anything. In connection with bug #502027 it makes sysinfo:/ totally useless for any operations on devices. Reproducible: Always -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks so far for your work. The code is updated within KDE:KDE4:Factory:Desktop project but testing shows that:
a) It's still impossible to (un)mount a user-mountable partition
Could you say something more about this, please? What happens when you click on device label? Does DeviceNotifier works with the same partition? Did you try this with pendrive, external HD, or sth else? Some specific filesystem? In case of little error you should get output if you enable debugging in kdebugdialog.
b) Running within VirtualBox ("Battery present: ") it still shows an almost empty "Battery Information" section. Only filled entry is "AC plugged: yes".
That seems to be Solid issue. I changed kio_sysinfo to do not display battery info when there is not *any* info about bettery. I guess that if Solid gives "AC plugged: yes" we display whole info then. Have to check that in Solid.
c) The automatic data refresh function lets the scroll view jump back to top of page (strangely updates following a manual F5 triggered refresh don't scroll anymore)
I didn't think about trying that, thanks. Will investigate that. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

/dev/sdb1 partition within fstab with user, noauto flags.
Does DeviceNotifier works with the same partition?
When mounted from shell? No. Also missing from "Places" sidebar.
What happens when you click on device label?
Nothing in the GUI, console output "KSysinfoPart::urlSelected: Device "/dev/sdb1" not mounted and not hotpluggable"
Did you try this with pendrive, external HD, or sth else? Some specific filesystem?
No. ext4 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Spoke to soon, when unmounted it appears in Dolphin's "Places" sidebar and can be mounted/selected with left clicked and also unmounted there. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Ah, you mean using fstab. That's not implemented. kio_sysinfo gained only /removable devices/ support so far, in Solid's meaning on that phrase. I'll try to look at using fstab later, but don't know much about this yet. ASAIU we can't use Solid for that, I know there is KAutoMount, but not sure if this is right thing. Have to learn more about this. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
