The reason for that is because /etc/rc.status does not account from invocations from /etc/rc.d. It only cares about invocations from /etc/init.d. A possible fix can be found in the attached patch file. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. execute: /etc/rc.d/ntp status or any other RC script 2.
