Repeatable always. The bug hits selected days in specific mailboxes. It is random and hits apparently mail out of all mailboxes. Once a mailbox is "hit" by this bug, archiving fails also with "one message could not be archived" and the whole process breaks. Restarting of Akonadi does not help. Within the same mailbox (pop/local) there are let us say 5 days normal then the messages of one day are inaccessible, including the attachments. You can hover over, and the popup prevision shows a part of the text, it shows that it has an attachment but the latter is inaccessible as is the mail. It does not open, double click does not do anything. It may be that if the message before the one hit is selected it shows well, then if you go back on the compromised one, the preview stays on the message read beforehand but the popup preview of KDE changes. This bug MAY be related to the bug reported with "messages sent are vanishing" but it is by no means sure as the dates of messages in the sent folder vanishing and the ones of the date of messages you may not open anymore do not correspond. This is severe because you seem to have complete data loss (e.g. Payment receipts in attachment, order confirmations, whatever you need for documentation purposes. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. use KDE with Pop3 and several local folders 2. retrieve mail for one month 3. try to open these mails, some with attachment. Actual Results: The mail will refuse to open. The preview window either stays empty or displays the precedent message. The KDE popup help shows the correct beginning of the mail text, it shows also if an attachment is present. But you can access neither. Expected Results: Mail should open and attachment should be accessible, and displayable. Mails are documents and therefore important personal data that should have the same dignity as documents, faxes or pdf. Data loss in this way is not production ready, can have severe consequences and makes Kmail potentially useless. If this helps: since 12.1 the spell check underline function is broken. Since 12.2 the search function for mail in nepomuk is broken. Since 4.10.1 sent mails vanish and the received mails randomly vanish together with attachments. Make your own conclusions. Relevant info: this is a two user setup (on for post and one for surf). The switch is made with switch user. KDE version 4.10.1.
