http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1194906 Bug ID: 1194906 Summary: after upgrade at kernel 5.16, X won't boot anymore. Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: Current Hardware: x86-64 OS: openSUSE Tumbleweed Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel Assignee: kernel-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: pandre.x@gmail.com QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 855399 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=855399&action=edit output hey all, after the upgrade which brought the 5.16 kernel, my system won't boot anymore. After GRUB it goes straight to the text console and when I try to login and give a "startx" it doesn't start. please see attached the output. I'm on a Intel Skylake as CPU and AMD Sapphire HD7970 as GPU which has the output video connected at the moment. The problem solves when I start with the previous 5.15 kernel. The latest version is being built right now, so wait for a while (for an hour or so) until the version 5.16.0-10.1.g1820121 is ready. http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/tiwai:/kernel:/drm-tip/stand... This kernel contains the build from the very latest upstream code, and if the problem persists (I guess so), we need to report it to the upstream bug tracker, gitlab.freedesktop.org Issues. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
