[Bug 210154] New: installation from external USB harddrive via CardBus USB2 controller needs additional boot parameter
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=210154 Summary: installation from external USB harddrive via CardBus USB2 controller needs additional boot parameter Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 5 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: snwint@novell.com ReportedBy: seife@novell.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com I tried installing from an usb harddrive on an older Notebook with only USB1.1 ports. So i wanted to use my cardbus usb2 card. This only works if i give "insmod=ehci_hcd" since the automatic hardware probing apparently only probes for USB controllers before activating pcmcia. The workaround is easy: "insmod=ehci_hcd". Maybe this is just a documentation issue; i am not suggesting to change the (probably fragile?) hardware probing setup for such corner cases:-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
