https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=824451 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=824451#c0 Summary: LibreOffice segfault at startup Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Factory Version: 13.1 Milestone 1 Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: LibreOffice AssignedTo: bnc-team-ooo@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: suse-beta@cboltz.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer Blocker: --- Created an attachment (id=543709) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=543709) strace of soffice.bin segfault I'm using latest factory as of today. When trying to start LibreOffice with "libreoffice", it displays the splash screen for a second and then crashes with $?=139. Starting "/usr/lib64/libreoffice/program/soffice.bin" results in a segfault, again with $?=139. I'm attaching the strace output. Does it trigger any bell, please? I wonder if it is caused by too old libreoffice rebuilt that it not complatible with the rest of the system, or with any update of system libraries (icu?), or some compiler flags (-fomit-frame-pointer). Fridrich, could you please take care of this bug. I am leaving for vacation tomorrow and do not have time to work on it. I hope that Tomas will point you to the fix or he would even update the package. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The first is about using omit-frame-pointer in cflags where bridgetest then failed and thus lo could not launch either. But this can't be the case because the build appends -fno-omit-frame-pointer by default. Second bug is about mismatch of icu versions where the user updated icu from 50.1 to 51.2 and didn't rebuild the libreoffice. Which should be solved on our side by having this automatically checked in obs. Possibly it could be debugged if the user could attach gdb to the process and watch the trace. Also note that unstable and factory builds should be currently 1:1, only difference is that unstable used its own mysqlcppconnector. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=824451 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=824451#c6 --- Comment #6 from Petr Mladek <pmladek@suse.com> 2013-06-13 04:47:10 UTC --- My feeling is that it is caused by inconsistence of the libreoffice build and the other system libraries. It will most likely get fixed by the next Factory rebuild. Anyway, I have just pushed libreoffice-4.0.3.3.4 into LibreOffice:Factory project. If it builds, we could create commit request to openSUSE:Factory. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
