This is very annoying when one is using scripts to automate certain things. It should have actually a timeout, but it is long, since this is the live log mode. Or do you speak about a different situation ? I know that I had to kill my script a couple of times when it was going through a few different packages. I just fixed it in r7259 (the default timeout is 100 seconds).
