[Bug 1168307] New: [Staging] YaST2 lan: no Global tab
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1168307 Bug ID: 1168307 Summary: [Staging] YaST2 lan: no Global tab Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Distribution Version: Leap 42.3 Hardware: Other URL: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1220969/modules/yast 2_lan/steps/12 OS: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: YaST2 Assignee: yast2-maintainers@suse.de Reporter: dimstar@opensuse.org QA Contact: jsrain@suse.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- ## Observation openQA test in scenario opensuse-Staging:D-Staging-DVD-x86_64-minimalx@uefi-staging fails in [yast2_lan](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1220969/modules/yast2_lan/steps/12) So far I could not yet point to any package responsible in the Staging group that could cause that. Of the more 'interesting' packages in this stging group, there is systemd 245 (which I could somewhat imagine, depending on how yast decides to show/hide the Global group) ## Test suite description MAX_JOB_TIME for bypass poo#44408 ## Reproducible Fails since (at least) Build [D.13.1](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1220969) (current job) ## Expected result Last good: [D.12.1](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/1220938) (or more recent) ## Further details Always latest result in this scenario: [latest](https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/latest?arch=x86_64&distri=opensuse&flavor=Staging-DVD&machine=uefi-staging&test=minimalx&version=Staging%3AD) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I assume it's the cgroup changes.
YaST checks in Systemd.Running whether /sys/fs/cgroup/systemd/ exists: https://github.com/yast/yast-yast2/blob/ dcb99f7864698496919c66ea933ef890a5fccf13/library/systemd/src/modules/Systemd. rb#L54
Good catch - ls -la /sys/fs/cgroup/systemd ls: cannot access '/sys/fs/cgroup/systemd': No such file or directory so that does indeed no longer exist -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanks for pinpointing it.
so that does indeed no longer exist
It's not longer exist because we decided to switch to the unified cgroup hierarchy (after all impacted user of the cgroup interface gave their green light of course ;)) while we were upgrading to v245. I think a better test would consist in testing the content of /proc/1/comm which should be "systemd" when systemd is running as pid1. Another possibility is to to check the presence of /run/systemd/system directory. That's what systemctl does internally. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
