[Bug 828341] New: glTexSubImage performance low on optimus laptop (intel/nvidia)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=828341 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=828341#c0 Summary: glTexSubImage performance low on optimus laptop (intel/nvidia) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: bnc-team-xorg-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: mandrav@gmail.com QAContact: xorg-maintainer-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/28.0.1500.71 Safari/537.36 Using Mesa9 (I have tried with versions up to 9.1.4-245.1), performance of glTexSubImage calls (using the Intel card) is very bad. This affects badly performance when using the primus backend of the bumblebee project (for optimus laptops). I have managed to find a work-around which I hope will help. If I edit the file ~/.drirc and put the following in it (disables texture tiling), performance increases drammatically: <driconf> <device screen="0"> <application name="all"> <option name="texture_tiling" value="false" /> </application> </device> </driconf> Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run "vblank_mode=0 /usr/lib64/mesa-demos/tests/subtexrate" Actual Results: ATTENTION: default value of option vblank_mode overridden by environment.
