With a 100 pixel wide taskbar, a 100 pixel wide string displaying the time 14:52 would waste a lot of space vertically in the taskbar as well. Not on SuSE because we have a patch in freetype2 preventing this, on openSUSE these bitmap fonts are called “Adobe Helvetica” instead of just “Helvetica”. So why does the clock use “Helvetica”?
