[Bug 650467] New: Latest glibc security fixes did not include update to glibc-debuginfo
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=650467 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=650467#c0 Summary: Latest glibc security fixes did not include update to glibc-debuginfo Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.2 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 11.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Security AssignedTo: security-team@suse.de ReportedBy: fago@earthlink.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 SUSE/3.6.10-0.3.1 Firefox/3.6.10 As a developer I need glibc-debuginfo packages that are in-sync with glibc. Otherwise valgrind does not work (among other things). The latest update to glibc (2.10.1-10.9.1) did not include updates to glibc-debuginfo. Thus I am unable to install this security fix until the debuginfo package is also updated (I tried, and the update broke Valgrind). Please add the debuginfo package as a dependency so that it gets automatically updated along with glibc itself, or stop stripping glibc. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Update glibc 2.Try to run Valgrind Actual Results: Valgrind will not run because of missing compatible glibc-debuginfo Expected Results: glibc-debuginfo should be updated along with glibc -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Everything else updates via the "standard" repo, but debuginfo needs an explicit update channel? I'll close as INVALID. Thanks, and sorry for the noise. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
