[Bug 398276] New: multisync syncs contacts _only_
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=398276 Summary: multisync syncs contacts _only_ Product: openSUSE 11.0 Version: Factory Platform: x86 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.0 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: casualprogrammer@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Beta-Customer While trying to synchronize a Sony Ericsson W800i to Evolution it seems to work well for Contacts, yet fails for Calendar as well as Notes. A group is added to Multisync-Gui populated with evo2-sync and syncml-obex-client. Where evo2sync is set to "Personal" for Contacts, Calendar and Notes and syncml-obex-client is set up to connect to BT-device 00:16:20:C2:AC:6F ( the phone ) on channel 7. On activating the synchronization by pressing refresh, all contacts are transferred ( in both directions ), yet an error message is shown: "Error synchronizing: Unable to write one or more objects". As soon as Calendar is set to "No Calendar" and Tasks to "No Todo" the synchronization is terminated successfully. Evolution <-> Phone over BT SyncML only syncs contacts ( often hangs )
This seems to be caused by content / content length the phone does not like. It should be considered to have a field mapping option. Also on syncing the fact that Evolution can hold more data than any phone I know should lead to "merge" rather than "replace" when data in the phone is altered and synced to evolution. Otherwise data will be lost. Exporting Events and Tasks as file (.vcs) and sending them via BT to the phone works nicely. So what keeps Multisync from doing it ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
