While I get competent and quick assistence with FreeBSD kernel bugs - including corefile and backtrace analysis, Linux kernel developers can not even tell me how to do this. It does actually have a reason why the Linux kernel is staying instable for month and years (years with regards to the ksoftirqd bug). Concerning the ksoftirqd bug developers were simply unwilling to tackle the problem. I simply doubt that there is much useful info in the /var/log/messages. Shame on Linux! long live BSD !! -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

My expierence with Linux Kernel Developers is really the worst.
Yes, we all suck. Um, might I suggest a different method of trying to get people to do free work for you? This one isn't going to go over very well...
Shame on Linux! long live BSD !!
No one is forcing you to use Linux, if BSD works for you, great, go use that. They need all the users they can get :) -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It also dumps the raw stack info. The long output is debugging info for a suspend failure due to NFS waiting on the server. There are some other traces: Line 15790: A warning when a hotplug ata device was removed Lines 37309, 37337 : A warning in inotify Unfortunately, none of these are related to the problem you're seeing. If you can easily reproduce this and the system remains up, can you capture the output of dmesg after the failure? -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

However there is often only little time between the oops and the crash so that I may not be able to capture the dmesg. However this occurs very irregularely so that we may have to wait (if it does not become resolved anyway by future updates before). -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
