https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=670507 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=670507#c0 Summary: home:plater:blender: dependency Bug Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE.org Version: unspecified Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: 3rd party software AssignedTo: davejplater@gmail.com ReportedBy: admin@eregion.de QAContact: opensuse-communityscreening@forge.provo.novell.com Found By: --- Blocker: --- Hi there! there seems to be a small dependency problem with your repository... after installing blender 2.56 from your repo, a "zypper dup" downgrades it to blender 2.49 from your repo, because you provide a python3 package that is newer than the one in OSS11.3 so it gets upgraded... but your blender 2.56 needs the older one so it gets downgraded to your blender 2.49 package... -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=670507 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=670507#c1 --- Comment #1 from Dave Plater <davejplater@gmail.com> 2011-02-09 09:07:21 UTC --- That's home:plater:blender, it's usually arranged to simply zypper dup -r plater and all of my blender related packages are updated. Unfortunately python3-base was was split from python3 and hence the -devel package, I've fixed that and if you wish I'll build you a no collada blender, in fact, openCOLLADA had an api change and blenders changed with it so the openCOLLADA libraries have been under construction since Monday. Thanks for the bug, I should have just switched off collada (I've also got two changes files to update) I've triggered a rebuild and triggered a wipebinary, which deletes all the offending blender rpm's Meanwhile the version of blender in graphics is the same as the one I'm erasing : http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/graphics/openSUSE_11.3 The latest svn du jour blender should be ready in the next few days depending on other things that I live off but Monday latest. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=670507 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=670507#c3 --- Comment #3 from Dave Plater <davejplater@gmail.com> 2011-02-10 11:50:47 UTC --- The existing blender-2.56 crashes when importing .dae files that contain armatures. I reported upstream and the crash was supposed to have been circumvented and the bug was converted to a "todo" A lot of work has been performed on collada import/export and it will probably be working in the blender I'm putting together. Meanwhile I've just adapted to the python3-base split from python3 and the non collada blender should be ready by tomorrow. The latest blender will be available by the weekend. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=670507 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=670507#c4 Dave Plater <davejplater@gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |FIXED --- Comment #4 from Dave Plater <davejplater@gmail.com> 2011-02-12 19:15:15 UTC --- All is now well with blender, openCOLLADA and python3. python3 happily coexists with python2, blender-2.56 used to be the only package in openSUSE that used python3 now there's a couple of gnome apps as well. 11.3 blender-2.56.34784 in home:plater:blender is built against a newer python3 than factory at the moment so that is what you need if you wish to use that blender. The same version is available from the graphics repo built against the 11.3 python3 but you will have to have jpeg-turbo and libtiff from there as well. Once again they perform well on my 11.3 system which is soon to update to factory. I haven't yet tested the collada import/export function but it has had a lot of work done by upstream and if it crashes it's a bug. The blender249 is there for 11.4/factory use by a user that needs it for a primstar plugin which will be depreciated by collada. You will no longer get blender249 when you update, closing as fixed. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
