[Bug 954783] DRI_PRIME=1 radeon kernel module crash (c-states/PCI issue)

i have latest BIOS 26.V.2016 and no option in BIOS setup to configure P state. 3.18 LTS works without any problem.
It's about the C-States. P-States are the frequency steps of the CPU and C-States are the idle states which gradually power off more and more CPU components if your system is idle. With different kernel versions, the timing might change. This means that your system will become unstable with a different trigger. Or certain HW parts are not supported yet and therefore disabled. is there any differences between BIOS emulated and UEFI for this issue?
Usually not. The BIOS/UEFI vendor cares for setting important settings for both the same. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
