https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=671821 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=671821#c0 Summary: Tor in openSUSE 11.4 isn't able to save the pid (contrib) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Factory Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: thardeck@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Component Test Blocker: --- In current openSUSE 11.4 Tor (tor-0.2.1.29-1.3 from Contrib factory) isn't able to save the pid because the directory /var/run/tor is missing and because of the limited rights of the tor user the service is not able to create the directory and file. When I create the directory on my own and change the owner to tor the service works fine. So this should be done during installation. log output: Starting tor daemon Feb 14 19:16:23.610 [notice] Tor v0.2.1.29 (r8e9b25e6c7a2e70c). This is experimental software. Created an attachment (id=414520) --> (http://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=414520) [details] patch for the tor.spec
This should fix the issue.
This has some badness associated with it. A better fix has been submitted to contrib and is building just now. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
