https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=436767 Summary: Ktrafficanalyzer keeps crashing Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: openSUSE 10.3 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: madmax@teenspirit.nl QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Ktrafficanalyzer keeps crashing with suse 10.3 / kde 3.5. I don't know where to look for logging or debug information. In /var/log/messages of dmesg is nothing to find by me. When I start ktrafficanalyzer in a konsole then its read the message "ktrafficanalyzer crashed". No relevant information is shown. I re-installed ktrafficanalyzer, did not help. I have several pc's. Two with opensuse 10.3 / kde 3.5, another with opensuse 11.1/kde 4.1. There is no crashing on those machines. I don't know where to look or what to try for a solution. What can I do next? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Thanx for the info. I rebuilded KTA, I think. I didn't know where to look for the new made KTA. I found one in /usr/src/packages/RPMS/i586/ and also the debuginfo rpm.
yes, that's the place :)
Just for the record, what I did. I installed the dependencies. I stopped KTA. rpmbuild --rebuild command as root. rpm -e KTA-debuginfo rpm -e KTA rpm -i KTA rpm -i KTA-debuginfo I started KTA.
Maybe I need to do more?
nope you're doing just fine :) although you don't have to run rpmbuild as root :)
It was some reading and searching howto's because I had never builded or installed anything by hand (or Konsole).
well, now you gain a new knowledge :) sorry in my earlier posts i didn't describe the whole art of package building, kinda in a hurry back then (IIRC). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

But its a pity that it didn't help us. KTA gave the segmentation fault several times. See below.
several times? by that you mean KTA not always crashed? i'm having difficulties trying to find (borrow) the necessary resources to try to trigger the bug in the same environment as yours. so i'm not so sure if this segfault caused by KTA it self or by some libs. and i'm running out of ideas :) but i'll keep trying. but i don't think this is a packaging problem. i already sent an email to KTA's author about this bug report. no reply so far. and you're right, those debug informations are useless :) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
