It is still accepted syntactically, but it doesn't do anything. IIRC it had not done anything for a long time. But there was a fix some time ago about some unneeded window manager "help" icons. IIRC tgoettlicher changed some Qt WFlags (window flags). Maybe what you see is a fallout of this. Thomas? On my test machine kwin showed window borders anyway, but with compiz the decoration is missing.
