[Bug 424970] New: [New Feature] Allow user to input password when specifying install source
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=424970 Summary: [New Feature] Allow user to input password when specifying install source Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: SLES 10 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: arthursv@linux.vnet.ibm.com QAContact: jsrain@novell.com Found By: --- Created an attachment (id=238729) --> (https://bugzilla.novell.com/attachment.cgi?id=238729) Patch to utils.c to allow user to enter password As of now, if you try to boot with a install=ftp://user@domain it will fail, because it does not ask the what is the password for the username user. This small patch asks the users for a password for the entered user (as it is usual with SSH, for example) in user@domain, this way you won't have to type the password for the net source in the boot parameters. If you do, it will not ask anything and boot normally. If you don't put a user, it will try to boot as anonymous. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
