[Bug 651293] New: Lock screen only works once per session
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=651293 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=651293#c0 Summary: Lock screen only works once per session Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.3 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.3 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE4 Workspace AssignedTo: kde-maintainers@suse.de ReportedBy: jeroen@tietema.net QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.7 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/7.0.517.41 Safari/534.7 After using lock screen once, it will not work anymore. This is for manual locking, but also for suspend to RAM / Hibernate. Powerdevil sends a notification that the screen is being locked, but after waking up I don't get a password dialog. I'm running OpenSuse 11.3 with KDE 4.5.3 (happens with all 4.5.x packages) don't know about KDE 4.4.x on 11.3 as I upgraded both at the same time. It seems lock screen crashes after first use, but I have no clue where to look for log messages, would gladly provide more info. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Lock screen 2. Unlock using your password 3. Lock screen again (nothing happens) Actual Results: The screen should always be locked after manual lock or suspend. Expected Results: No locking happens, after suspend I return straight to my session. I upgraded from opensuse 11.2 with KDE 4.4.x -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

But I also found out that calling kscreenlocker from the command line I am able to lock the screen / start the screensaver multiple times (/usr/lib64/kde4/libexec/kscreenlocker) It's just the menu's and krunner / powerdevil menu's that aren't working. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
