OpenSuSE wiki mentions that pvr 350 doesn't work within yast or kdetv but works with the right scripts. Can you check the driver if it's working right way?
I tried to select the specific driver for the wintv pvr 250 or 350, but the system returns each time to the automatic recognized driver, which is one for the wintv prv 250. I have chosen this driver for the configuration of my videocard. I have seen the comments in the wiki before, but it was not clear to me, what kind of scripts were used to run the card correctly. Actually I am able to receive the videotext of all the channels are provided. In the kdetv-menu video the videocard is displayed by video4linux after I have selected the right video plugin. But kdetv lacks still of sound and moving pictures. Other programmes have the same problem as kdetv. Maybe the driver is not perfectly configured and needs some amendments of the kernelmodules in yast for experts. But I don't know how and I am not able to configure the driver by myself. What do mean with checking the driver? I am familiar with installing things, but they have more or less run out of the box. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

by now these drivers are in the upstream kernel (the ivtv package only contains some userspace tools). Should be working fine in recent releases.
Have already OS 11.2 A installed and have worked with OS 11.1 RC1 but configuration of wintv pvr 250 does not work with yast out of the box as it does with OS 11.0. Have installed ivtv-stuff manually and it works fine now in cooperation with the program tv-viewer together with xine, kaffein, vlc or mplayer. I'm not aware of such problem.
Peter, which packages exactly did you install? Was installing the packages sufficient or did you do any additional step?
I installed os 11.1 RC1 from livecd with kde first and in a further step I tried to configure my wintv pvr 250 with yast2-tv, but configuration failed. I recognised this by repaeating the configuration with yast2-tv and the card still remained unconfigured. So I decided to install the ivtv-stuff manually with the yast2 software management. After a reboot and another configuration with yast2-tv I could installed the available channels. During that os loaded and installed some additional files from the repositories. I can't remember them anymore, I thing there was ivtv-kmp-default module as well. So I did a reboot an the card works well now with tv-viewer. When I go back now to yast2-tv the card is configured and it is displayed: Als TV-Karte Nummer 0 konfiguriert Treiber ivtv Paket 'ivtv' von 'Installiert' Paket 'ivtv-firmware' von 'Installiert' Paket 'ivtv-kmp-default' von 'Nicht installiert' I am working now on OS 11.2 A but had the same problem as with os 11.1 RC1.
