[Bug 969094] New: missing icons, issues with font size and other components
http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/show_bug.cgi?id=969094 Bug ID: 969094 Summary: missing icons, issues with font size and other components Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE Tumbleweed Version: 2015* Hardware: Other OS: SUSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: KDE Workspace (Plasma) Assignee: opensuse-kde-bugs@opensuse.org Reporter: a.nolting@almano.de QA Contact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- Created attachment 667449 --> http://bugzilla.opensuse.org/attachment.cgi?id=667449&action=edit Contains the screen shots Hello, since an update about 3 week ago of my tumbleweed installation I'm having some different issues with the plasma5 desktop and some kde components. Maybe you can help me figuring out if there is a package missing or damaged in some way. You'll find attached some screen shots showing the issues in detail. First, in kde start menu are no more program icons shown. The same for program favorites in start menu. See file "kde start menu no program and program favorites icons shown.png" and "kde start menu no program favorite icons shown.png" Second, dolphin seem to runs on plasma5 as kde4 variant since the update. See file "dolphin seem to run kde4 part even as this art packages does not exist in tumbleweed repo anymore.png". Third, some programs, her for instance spectacle seem to use the kde4 file dialog while firefox seem to use the plasma5 variant. See files "spectacle uses kde4 file dialog.png" and "Mozilla uses kdf5 file dialog.png". And at last the desktop does not respect anymore the dpi settings reported as the font height and width overall is way too big for an FHD laptop (1980x1080). See file "desktop does not respect dpi information for rendering correct font width and height.png". I have attached my repos as well, but I think I'm using mainly opensuse tumbleweed repos. After removing it, everything is fine. Are kcm and qtct conflicting each other? Regards Alex -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

That package is to be used when no DE is otherwise used in order for Qt applications to pick up users settings. With current packaging, i see 2 issues: 1) the name is totally wrong, as it indicates it's one of Qt Project's 'products' 2) it effectively overrides any platform plugin (be it Qt's, KDE's or something else), just by being installed, leading to your sitution. I'll try to see with libqt5-qtct's maintaner what we can do about that. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

I'll try to see with libqt5-qtct's maintaner what we can do about that.
I would propose to check the $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP variable and only set QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME if it's not "KDE". (in libqt5-qtct's /etc/profile.d/libqt5-qtct.*sh scripts) Haven't tried that yet though. Btw, isn't this a duplicate of bug#920792 ? ;-) -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
