[Bug 210928] New: s2ram works on thinkpad R60
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=210928 Summary: s2ram works on thinkpad R60 Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: behlert@novell.com ReportedBy: speakerender@netscape.net QAContact: qa@suse.de s2ram works on my thinkpad R60 (with Intel video) even though it is not on the whitelist. I use "s2ram -f -a 1" which works fine from X and a text terminal, both with and without the framebuffer. #s2ram -n Machine is unknown. This machine can be identified by: sys_vendor = "LENOVO" sys_product = "94566LU" sys_version = "Thinkpad R60" bios_version = "7CET51WW (1.06 )" See http://en.opensuse.org/S2ram for details. If you report a problem, please include the complete output above. I hope this is the right place to report success like this. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=210928 ------- Comment #1 from seife@novell.com 2006-10-09 02:10 MST ------- Yes, the place is right. Thanks for the report, i added it to the whitelist. One additional question: Does it also work with "-f -a3"? Since almost all thinkpads work fine with "-a3", it would seem strange if this one wouldn't (but of course not impossible). Until the new whitelist makes it into a product, you can just add the workaround in /etc/powersave/sleep: SUSPEND2RAM_FORCE="yes" SUSPEND2RAM_ACPI_SLEEP="1" -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Now that I have tried it, I can say that yes, -f -a3 works better. Both seem to take about the same time to suspend and resume, but a3 doesn't have 4 seconds of weird garbage on the screen (instead has some text that might one day be useful for debugging). Thanks for the tip, and the great utility. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
