However the file is saved as an Excel version 5, which eliminates certain functionality in the spreadsheet itself. This is clearly related to the KDE4 extension, as that when this extension is de-installed, the file is saved correctly. This bug is still an issue in the release version of opensuse 11.2 on both x86_64 and i586 platforms. I can verify that when using KDE the and using file-> save as and saving a word document as Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP option it give a warning about saving in word 6 format. The saved files then often have a messed up formatting. If you remove the OpenOffice_org-kde4 package the problem no longer occurs. The warning message is then about saving in Microsoft Word 97/2000/XP format and the saved files have the correct formatting. Many users will just notice that openoffice does not work properly and will not find out why and just think opensuse is terrible.
