I plug it in and switch it on. Then it appears in nautilus and a little window is shown where I may put in the passphrase for the decryption. I put in the passphrase (the correct one of course) and the window disappears, but the hard drive disappears in nautilus, too. It should be mounted instead. With nautilus I changed the folder to /dev/mapper and there actually is this device mapper thing inside. It is just not mounted, that must be fixed. By the way manually mounting the hard drive within the terminal is no problem.
