Can you try evtest /dev/input/eventXXX (you have to try out which XXX is your mouse)? Check especially what happens when the mouse freezes, and whether there is any output after the mouse works again. Please post a snippet from the output at that time. Adding Vojtech, maybe he's got another idea. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=217837 ------- Comment #3 from vojtech@novell.com 2006-11-08 11:31 MST ------- This will sound rude, but: Get a new mouse. This one doesn't work. Now what's happening: The dmesg in your hwinfo clearly shows that the mouse is often failing to respond to the polls from the USB controller, resulting in failed transfers. Then the HID code tries to reset the mouse, and this succeeds sometimes, and sometimes it gives up and does a disconnect. It looks like a hardware problem with the mouse, but one can never rule out a problem elsewhere, including software. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Could you please check whether you have "Legacy USB" option in your BIOS setup, and if so, try to turn it off and check whether there is any improvement? Also, are there other USB devices connected to your computer at the time the mouse freezes, or it is the only USB device? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Due to some problems, i have bought a new laptop, that now uses Fedora Core 6, the bug still happens in fedora so i have taken Vojtech advice, i bought i new mice that works well. I know that i should send feedback earlier by my time was really short. If you want me to test mice again, i could do it in a different environment, but since i don't even use Novel's product anymore, i don't think you guys have to worry.
