https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=887049 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=887049#c0 Summary: Texlive 2014 native & dependencies Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 13.1 Version: Final Platform: All OS/Version: openSUSE 13.1 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: belleuxolivier@gmail.com QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/35.0.1916.114 Safari/537.36 Hello dear debuggers, Since OpenSUSE provide Texlive from thousands of small .RPM, I think to install Texlive from CTAN with perl script install-tl. Unfortunatly OpenSUSE provides tool like KILE TEXMAKER or LATEXILLA compilled so as they need somes Texlive-foo.arch.rpm as dependencies… but I think this pkgs are not realy needed because this tool, in truth, need a (La)Tex distribution (e.g. Texlive) to be installed. So User who want to install the original texlive will got problem for installing is favorite Latex editor from OpenSUSE repo. I use texmaker from third partie with no uneeded dependencies and it work perfectly. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual Results: I need to install unneeded dependencies from repo when I want to install KILE or TEXMAKER exemple for kile Requires: konsole needed Requires: okular needed Requires: texlive-context unneeded Requires: texlive-latex unneeded Requires: texlive-xetex unneeded Requires(post): shared-mime-info needed Requires(postun): shared-mime-info needed Recommends: %{name}-lang = %{version} needed Recommends: ImageMagick unneeded Recommends: dblatex unneeded Recommends: ghostscript-library needed Recommends: kbibtex unneeded Recommends: konqueror needed Recommends: latex2html unneeded Recommends: lilypond unneeded Recommends: psutils needed Recommends: texlive-metapost unneeded Recommends: texlive-tex4ht unneeded Recommends: zip Suggests: aspell Suggests: texlive-doc unneeded Suggests: texlive-latex-doc unneeded Provides: kde4-kile = 2.0.85 Obsoletes: kde4-kile < 2.0.85 Maybe will it be a good idea to suppress all the unmandatory dependencies from this pkg so user will get more freedom of using tools provides by OpenSUSE repos and a native texlive. And, for finish, two proposition : yast2-texlive-installer & yast2-texlive-manager ; this will be very fun for installing texlive from CTAN ! TeXLive 2014 has to wait upto the point where SLES-12 is out and I'm back from vacation. Beside this the TeXLive from openSUSE respects any local tree belor /usr/local/share/texmf -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
