[Bug 375746] New: dhcp-client (dhclient) scripts do not set NTP data
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=375746 User mt@novell.com added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=375746#c372391 Summary: dhcp-client (dhclient) scripts do not set NTP data Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: mt@novell.com ReportedBy: mt@novell.com QAContact: qa@suse.de CC: milisav.radmanic@novell.com, mt@novell.com, varkoly@novell.com, anschneider@novell.com, mhocko@novell.com Found By: Novell Technical Services Services Priority: 500 NTS Support #: 10382462431 +++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #372391 +++ The scripts for dhclient apparently do not change the configuration for ntpd, even though this has been requested in /etc/dhclient.conf. On SLES10, as far as I can see, /sbin/dhclient-script never even evaluates $new_ntp_servers.(On openSUSE 10.3 it pointlessly writes the content of the variable to /var/run/ntp/servers, which never gets picked up anywhere.) I agree with the customer that failing to set this parameter is a bug, especially as dhcpcd handles it correctly. (See #366011 why they just cannot use dhcpcd.) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
