PS: I've moved back to OpenSUSE 11.0, as I just had to get iFolder working. If you need more info, I could try 11.1 again in another day or 2. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I also switched my compiz repo to the openSUSE Build Service if that helps. When I had the issue it was with a self-installed version of the 180.29 drivers. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Been running the machine the past 24 hours or so, and have not encountered the issue. Running the "x11-video-nvidiaG02 NVIDIA graphics driver for GeForce 6xxx and newer GPUs" v180.29-0.1 (x86_64) and "nvidia-gfxG02-kmp-default NVIDIA graphics driver kernel module for GeForce 6xxx and newer GPUs" v180.29_2.6.27.18_0.3-0.1 (x86_64), if the information is useful to anyone. regards kumfei :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It has been discussed too long with many uneffective and crazy workaround, and at the end nothing is done. I should have been more exhaustive. So the current workaround is just commenting the block : if check_nvidia; then in /usr/bin/compiz-manager It deactivates --loose-binding. Indeed, you won't get any more refresh problem, but it kills the performance (with nvidia chips). I bet your animations are laggy - and at least it is what happened to me and to most of users. So, the patch I mentionned above would allow to keep the --loose-binding option without having any refresh issue. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Pardon the ignorance, but which fix in the long list are you refering to? I'd like to try them out as well. regards kumfei :-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The direct link : http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=1957219&postcount=18 compiz-devel is required for the compilation, I guess. The problem with the openSUSE compiz devel package is that it is linked to kde3-base. For a Gnome user like me, it would be annoying to set up so many package. So, I will try to be a little bit more patient (after all, I have been expeting it for at least 8 months), looking for an official patch. ;) regards, JC -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Patching compiz to workaround nvidia driver issue will not be done unless the patch is accepted in upstream compiz.
