So I've tried 11.1rc1 and the installation went well. But after rebooting, the harddisk doesn't appear during initrd's loading of module mvsas. The most relevant console messages are: sas: phy-10:1 added to port-10:0, phy_mask:0x2 ( 0) ERROR: Unidentified device type 0 When initrd bails out to a shell, I can reproduce the above message by unloading and reloading the module mvsas. It's a LVM based installation. Running lvm from the shell and then pvscan reports "no matching physical volumes found". Some further information: When I start the 11.1rc1 installer again and switch to a console, I can mount the drive's partitions, so the drive is recognized and the partition's content looks correct. When I choose to repair the system from the installer menu and want to boot the installed system, the installer analyzes the configuration and reports that it couldn't find a root system. If I recall correctly, the 11.0 installer didn't find the drive for the same reason. So anything must have changed for the 11.1rc1 installer which seems to be missing in initrd.
