[Bug 334062] New: gnome-xgl-switch and white desktop
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=334062 Summary: gnome-xgl-switch and white desktop Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Xgl AssignedTo: dreveman@novell.com ReportedBy: ensonic@sonicpulse.de QAContact: bperry@novell.com Found By: --- I just upgraded from 10.2 to 10.3. I had compiz installed before. Now after the upgrade it was disabled first, so I run gnome-xgl-switch --enable-xgl. One login later everything on my desktop turned white. When I logged in as a diffenrent user it worked fine (with the effects working). Out of despair I run gnome-xgl-switch --disable-xgl. Now I could log in just fine again and now white desktop. Strange thing is the effect are active still and work fine. I have the cube, the wobble - everything. Altough when I run gnome-xgl-settings it says that the effects are deactivated. Besides, please add the graphics card to the 'database' VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV34 [GeForce FX 5200] (rev a1) I run xgl since a year on that. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I have no idea why gnome-xgl-settings subscribes to keys like '/desktop/gnome/sound'. Interesting is that gconf does not have the whole subtree for '/apps/gnome-settings/gnome-xgl-settings'. The reason for this is that the gconf-schema is missing in the package: rpm -ql compiz-gnome-0.5.4 | grep schema Please fix the package via online update. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
