https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=249578 Summary: no suspend _to_disk from /etc/pm/config Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: 32bit OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Other AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: eberkre@aol.com QAContact: qa@suse.de open suse 10.2 on notebook together with windows xp When working on battery: no suspend_to_disk on critical batteryload as expected after entered into /etc/pm/config value for low 7 min,for critical 4 min events set on suspend_to_disk on critical batteryload, instead of suspend only notes on remaining load are given ( 4%, ....2%) and finally the warning to switch on AC, what I did to avoid forced switch-off. Hello, I repeated to reach Suspend to disk with the same entries as given above but without success. Indications of reaching the different batteryloadings were properly with additional advice when reaching critical ( 4 % )loading that on continuation dataloss could occur.I switched on AC at restload of 2 %. There were no USB or Firewire connections active during the test.
Regards Eberhard Krehle
There is no setting in /etc/pom/config that would affect actions on battery low. You need to set that in kpowersave (right-click the icon in the system tray, then "configure kpowersave) or gnome-power-manager. The settings in /etc/powersave/battery are only used if powersaved is used (which is deactivated by default in 10.2 once kpowersave or gnome-power-manager start up) What you are seeing here is "working as designed", i guess. If you still think otherwise, please reopen the bug, and attach your /etc/pm/config and tell us if you are using kpowersave or gnome-power-manager. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
