[Bug 408866] New: System hangs using Beagle+Packagekit+ext3

However, I do not use a reiserfs-partition on my openSuSE 11-system. (I do have a reiserfs-formatted partition on my second HD, which is not mounted or used by openSuSE 11 in any way.) I'm using four ext3-partitions (/,/boot,/home,/share), no other partitions of any kind are used (There a 4 (3 x ext3,1 x reiser) other Linux-partitions on my Computer to be used by my Debian-Etch-system - should be irrelevant here.) The behaviour of my system is very much alike that one described in Bug #389656 with one difference: There is no reiserfs in use. The system stops responding to anything, neither CTRL+ALT+BSPACE or CTRL+ALT+DELETE shows any reaction. However, ALT+SysRQ+B is just capable of rebooting the computer. I installed openSuSE 11 for the second time with the knowledge of the Beagle/Reiserfs-bug mentioned above, now ext3 instead of reiser. But the system is hanging anyway. I removed the following packages from my system: beagle, packagekit, packagekitd (and their dependencies) Now the system is operating perfectly well. I have to note that my computer is not permanently connected to the internet. It was packagekit that popped up windows complaining about noch being able to use the repositories. Whether it is beagle or packagekit[d] or both crashing the system I don't know. Anyway, I doubt the error in Bug #389656 is related to the reiserfs system. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
