[Bug 209728] New: Display dead on resume on X60 (i945)
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=209728 Summary: Display dead on resume on X60 (i945) Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Alpha 4 plus Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: rml@novell.com QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Resume from suspend-to-RAM results in a dead display running STABLE (xorg package version 7.1-26). Keypresses, network, et cetera all work--the display just never comes back. It stays dark, as if the LCD panel is not even powered back up. Resume worked fine in SLED10 on the same hardware. Machine is a Lenovo X60 laptop with a i945. I tried with and without 3D enabled. I had sax regenerate my xorg.conf. No luck. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=209728 ------- Comment #3 from rml@novell.com 2006-10-04 11:49 MST ------- As a data point, the display does not resume with the kernel from SLED10 running on 10.2, either. So it seems likely that Xorg 7.1 or the updated Intel video driver is the culprit, or at least involved. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Pleasure. ;-) I will attach the log. With STABLE as of today, I have fixed the problem with the line acpi_sleep=s3_bios,s3_mode on my kernel command line. I did _NOT_ need this on an X60 on SLED10, so something changed in xorg 7.1 (since the SLED10 kernel on STABLE also does not resume). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
