Still I doubt it uses framebuffer instead of intel. Not sure how to verify. Resolution is fine now but not sure if it can be improved. As this doesn't seem like permanent solution, I may encounter other issues while using 2.6.33 kernel. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

So to summarize, I had to do following steps. 1. Boot in vesa mode. 2. Install 2.6.33 kernel from Kernel Head repo. 3. Delete /etc/X11/xorg.conf 4. Reboot. My problem has gone for now but using above workarounds. ruchir@Ruchir-Linux:~> glxinfo |grep renderer OpenGL renderer string: Mesa DRI Intel(R) IGDNG_M GEM 20091221 2009Q4 -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

There's really not enough info to diagnose this. Is there an /etc/X11/xorg.conf on the live cd? If it's there can you remove it and restart X? I'm not sure if the kernel is actually the problem here. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

I've got a Core i5 processor with integrated Intel GMA HD GPU and X-Server doesn't start at the setup routine. After installation i've got some Errors in XError.log. After trying 'sax2 -r' Vesa driver was loaded and the Xserver / WM came up. Kernel Update to 2.6.33 resolved this issue. I guess if you ship 2.6.33 this issue can be closed. -- Configure bugmail: http://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
