It's about the modem codec. Look at /proc/asound/card0/cards file and check whether really no driver is set up there. If the driver is listed there, it could be a device permission problem. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

I guess it's a device permission problem, which is related with HAL/udev and was recently fixed in the upstream kernel (and openSUSE 10.3-alpha2). A simple workaround is to add you to "audio" group. Give it a try. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=259989 ------- Comment #4 from gilles.sabourin@free.fr 2007-04-04 09:53 MST ------- Added gilles to audio group : the workaround doesn't work. I have read elsewhere that a similar problem which had been solved with new alsa drivers. Will opensuse team provide soon alsa sound driver 1.0.14 ? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Otherwise it has no influence to the current session. As mentioned, it's fixed in the latest kernel 2.6.21 already included in openSUSE 10.3. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
