[Bug 265812] New: BGPD from QUAGGA crash everytime we advertise.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=265812 Summary: BGPD from QUAGGA crash everytime we advertise. Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Blocker Priority: P5 - None Component: Network AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: internux@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de I try to use bgpd+zebra (quagga) in SuSE 10.2. I try to use a simple configuration below: Current configuration: ! hostname quagga log file /var/log/quagga/bgp.log ! router bgp 4832 bgp router-id 10.0.0.1 neighbor 10.0.0.254 remote-as 4832 neighbor 10.0.0.254 next-hop-self neighbor 10.0.0.254 soft-reconfiguration inbound ! line vty ! end It is running, and it can receive routes from its neighbors. But if I try to advertise, either using "network" or "redistribute" command, it is crashed with the following error message in logfile. BGP: Received signal 11 at 1176684508 (si_addr 0x8, PC 0x8083f95); aborting... Program counter: /usr/sbin/bgpd[0x8083f95] Backtrace for 12 stack frames: /usr/lib/libzebra.so.0(zlog_backtrace_sigsafe+0x30)[0xb7f45640] /usr/lib/libzebra.so.0(zlog_signal+0x1c7)[0xb7f45c17] /usr/lib/libzebra.so.0[0xb7f5197a] [0xb7f89440] /usr/sbin/bgpd[0x808402b] /usr/sbin/bgpd[0x8078fdb] /usr/sbin/bgpd[0x807953b] /usr/sbin/bgpd[0x807960b] /usr/lib/libzebra.so.0(thread_call+0x6c)[0xb7f3942c] /usr/sbin/bgpd[0x804c94c] /lib/libc.so.6(__libc_start_main+0xdc)[0xb7b46f9c] /usr/sbin/bgpd[0x804c491] The same configuration running nicely in SuSE 9.1. I tried to reproduce your problem: I installed quagga package. I put your configuration into /etc/quagga/bgpd.conf I run /etc/rc.d/bgpd start Then I put these commands into the vtysh console: configure terminal router bgp 4832 network 10.0.0.0 redistribute ospf redistribute kernel redistribute static redistribute rip and nothing happened. Bgpd didn't crash. I'm new to quagga, maybe I missed something. Please, could you write exactly how to reproduce the problem. Thank you -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=265812 ------- Comment #2 from internux@gmail.com 2007-05-08 07:53 MST ------- Dear Mr. Ales Nosek. Thank you for your help. If you are using that command, but not yet connected to any other BGP peer, the quagga will not crash. But once you are connected, you will crash within a few second :-) Find another computer running bgpd (quagga), or cisco router, connect it with command: configure terminal router bgp 4832 neighbor 10.0.0.254 remote-as 4832 in computer 10.0.0.254, do the same thing. Of course now the peer is the IP address of your computer, for example neighbor 10.0.0.1 remote-as 4832 Hopefully, the bug will be reproduced. I think it was caused by broken strict-aliasing patch. Could you please confirm by testing quagga from Build Service? http://software.opensuse.org/download/server:/routing/openSUSE_10.2/ -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
