[Bug 180390] Parallel port printing does not function with SLED 10 RC2
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=180390#c78
--- Comment #78 from Thomas Renninger
I do not believe that to be the issue, at least in my case. Older SuSE kernels (9.x?) worked fine with ECP But that would exactly explain this. This could be the times when pnpacpi was introduced
Somewhere around 10.0, it would work with ECP unless the modules were reloaded This is weird..., maybe diffing the parport_pc module helps, no idea...
I don't know exactly where pnpbios info comes from. It's probably also some parsed tables exported via BIOS. The same for pnpacpi info. For pnpacpi I can pretty sure say that the parsed info (with dma enabled) is correct (in respect of parsing). While pnpbios is more mature, I expect it's also parsed correctly (with dma disabled) and the fact that it works makes me think it's the info that should be preferred on these machines. Can you still provide dmidecode output, pls. I expect this only affects older machines and switching to pnpbios on these shouldn't cause any harm. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
