https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682045 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=682045#c0 Summary: Synaptic touchpad slows down Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.4 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 11.4 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Mobile Devices AssignedTo: mobile-bugs@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: dutchkind@txoriaskea.org QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:2.0b12) Gecko/20110222 Firefox/4.0b12 After the upgrade from 11.3 to 11.4 my touchpad was much slower. I adjusted this in kde, but fast movements are still impossible, and often during working it suddenly slows down to a creep and the tapping to click stops working. To get the tapping work again I have to move the mouse pointer rapidly (like shaking a mouse) and then I can tap-click again. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use touchpad, everything is more or less normal 2. After a while mouse slows down and taps won't work 3. Move mouse rapidly and tapping works for a short while, but mouse movements are still dragging Intel graphics 965 GM -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

It get very annoying, though. Also the slowdown is a real annoyance. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

The mouse moves, the right click works and the keyboard is fully functional. I am using openSuse 11.4 and have the following hardware of interest Sony Vaio Z series VPCZ1190X I have been using the Intel GPU Using the Touch Pad instead of an external mouse I will try the same situation with the NVIDIA GPU and an external mouse and post the results as well. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

[ 1.451558] Synaptics Touchpad, model: 1, fw: 6.2, id: 0x1a0b1, caps: 0xa04713/0x200000/0x0 [ 1.512265] input: SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad as /devices/platform/i8042/serio1/input/input1 The left mouse button of a connected ubs mouse stops to work irregulary. There are no messages in the log apart from the following [234279.117918] psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost sync at byte 4 [234279.119622] psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/serio1/input0 lost sync at byte 1 [234279.127911] psmouse.c: TouchPad at isa0060/serio1/input0 - driver resynched. Usb mouse doesn't work UNTIL I press the left "mouse" button of the touchpad, after that the mouse works again!! It seems that maybe a resynch of touchpad will disable mouse events forward to kde or something similar... How can we debug this issue (enable debugging of driver, mor kde logging output...) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Problems begun a few days ago, so I'm downgrading some components to traceback (firefox, kde ...). Problem appears ever with firefox open (6.0.2), and sometimes is solved with touchpad left button or surface pulses. Opensuse 11.4 + NVIDIA Quadro FX2700M + 4Gb RAM + logitech Bluetooth mouse. Keyboard works Ok. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

My left mouse button stopped working after a x period of time, when moving the cursor and right clicking a lot the functionality came back for a while. Adding the following in /etc/X11/xorg.conf solved this for me. Section "InputClass" Identifier "Mouse Remap" MatchProduct "Saitek Cyborg R.A.T.7 Mouse" MatchDevicePath "/dev/input/event*" Option "ButtonMapping" "1 2 3 4 5 6 7 2 9 10 11 12 0 0 0" EndSection Hope this is useful to someone. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
