Could you try gkrellm-x86info and/or gkrellm-gkfreq from

Sorry, leaving plugin's dedicated space would not be trivial and not worth the effort. Originally, I placed CPUn label on the one line with governor, but that doesn't fit horizontal space, unfortunately. So that's what I can offer you, now I will dedicate my time to other work.
