i am using lcd display so fixing this issue at hardware level is one key press on lcd.
Exactly. Please do so. Monitors can save settings for different modes. Obviously text and graphic mode are different.
but it would be nightmare adjusting on crt everytime.
Even CRTs can save settings for different modes. Maybe not in 1993, but soon later they already *could* do. ==> WONTFIX -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

Maybe you can force it to use the same timings for text console and X, but not with our LiveCD, since settings get lost after reboot. Instead I suggest to press the magic button on your LCD Monitor - once for textmode and once for X. And you're fine for the time being. It's really no fun for me being bothered by such minor issues when struggling the same time with real problems. And believe me, there are a lot of them. :-( ==> WONTFIX (2nd try) BTW, the next time you reopen it, I'll immediately reassign it to the openSUSE project manager. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.

In this situation it is often necessary to tell the panel to adjust itself to the new mode (by pressing auto-adjust). This problem might go away if a different mode line was used. Since there is no log file and config file, yet, it is hard to say which mode line is used at all. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
