OK... btrfs-image hit the same on-disk error and produced a corrupted image. The corruption is so severe that it leaked into btrfs-image text output while trying to restore the file system. ;-) lpechacek@fm:/data/src/btrfs-progs> ./btrfs-image -r /data/src/btrfs-progs/bsc897774-btrfs-dump /data/src/btrfs-progs/bsc897774-btrfs-broken ERROR: unknown state after reading cluster at 0, probably crrupted data ERROR: restore failed: Success Having a full partition image would help tremendously, Johannes.
