dmesg
After upgrading Tumbleweed to snapshot 20190415, Ethernet is not working
anymore on my Overdrive 1000. It is configured to use DHCP v4 and v6.
Setting a static IPv4 does not work either.
Kernel seems to be ok according to dmesg:
[ 15.058740] sky2: driver version 1.30
[ 15.058824] sky2 0000:02:00.0: enabling device (0000 -> 0003)
[ 15.058909] sky2 0000:02:00.0: Yukon-2 Optima chip revision 1
[ 15.059467] sky2 0000:02:00.0 eth0: addr e0:ff:f7:00:20:4c
[ 15.063383] sky2 0000:02:00.0 enp2s0: renamed from eth0
But it seems that wicked is not enable to start the interface properly.
'ip all' shows:
1: lo:

Leap 15.1 aarch64 is also affected on openQA: https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/937951#step/zypper_in/4
Network is broken after a reboot for the exact same reason as seen already on Tumbleweed.
That seems to be a different issue - according to https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/937951/file/textinfo-info.txt the interface has an IP and /etc/resolv.conf also lists a nameserver. Infra issue? -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.

Jun 14 11:43:51.036047 SoftironGGA systemd[1]: Starting wicked network management service daemon... Jun 14 11:44:42.406809 SoftironGGA systemd-udevd[474]: e0010000.kcs: Worker [494] processing SEQNUM=2154 is taking a long time Jun 14 11:45:21.156747 SoftironGGA systemd[1]: wickedd.service: Start-pre operation timed out. Terminating. Jun 14 11:45:21.169538 SoftironGGA systemd[1]: wickedd.service: Control process exited, code=killed, status=15/TERM Jun 14 11:45:21.169689 SoftironGGA systemd[1]: wickedd.service: Failed with result 'timeout'.
The directive was added in: version-0.6.54~1^2 6b1f8ed18f25 ("systemd: ask udev to settle before wickedd runs") However, the commit message does not explain why. If the intention was to wait for all devices are discovered, then the proper way is to pull in dependency on systemd-udev-settle.service, i.e. Wants=systemd-udev-settle.service # or Requires= After=systemd-udev-settle.service This way the time spent is accounted where it should be (systemd-udev-settle.service) and it is up to wickedd to fail on its own when it's missing some devices. Another problem is why a particular udev worker gets apparently stuck: Jun 14 11:44:42.406809 SoftironGGA systemd-udevd[474]: e0010000.kcs: Worker [494] processing SEQNUM=2154 is taking a long time (as per comment 3, it's not a device necessary for networking though). -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
