https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=763261 https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=763261#c0 Summary: KOTD repository doesn't work at all for this openSUSE 12.1 x86_64 machine (but works for 32 bit) Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 12.1 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 12.1 Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: peter.maloney@brockmann-consult.de QAContact: qa-bugs@suse.de Found By: --- Blocker: --- User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:11.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/11.0 Using the instructions from this page: http://en.opensuse.org/openSUSE:Kernel_of_the_day When trying to install the latest kernel from that repository, it has an error saying the package is not found. Listing all packages shows that the package does not exist (nor does kernel-desktop, etc.). This machine is x86_64. At home, on my 32 bit machine, this worked fine. Here is a log of it failing: # zypper ar http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/standard KOTD Adding repository 'KOTD' [done] Repository 'KOTD' successfully added Enabled: Yes Autorefresh: No GPG check: Yes URI: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/standard # zypper install -r KOTD kernel-default Building repository 'KOTD' cache [done] Loading repository data... Trying capabilities. No provider of 'kernel-default' found. Resolving package dependencies... Nothing to do. Expected Results: Expected it to download and install the package and dependencies, build initrd, update grub1's menu.lst with my new kernel, etc. as it did at home on my clunky old 32 bit machine. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
