[Bug 269872] New: s2ram works from konsole but not via kpowsersave
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=269872 Summary: s2ram works from konsole but not via kpowsersave Product: openSUSE 10.3 Version: Alpha 3 Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Usability AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: rmyster@gmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de When using kpowersave to suspend to ram, suspend begins and then just resumes without actually suspending. When s2ram is called via command line, suspend works as expected. Upgrading to the latest kernel from factory(2.6.21-rc7-3-default) gives same result. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

IMO a pm-utils issue, after call suspepend via HAL (which work as it look to me), KPowersave has nothing to do with the suspend/resume.
ok. Yes, if it wasn't clear from my comments above, suspend&resume works properly when called from the cli via s2ram. Do you where the right click option under the kpowersave menu that offers "Suspend to RAM" is interfaced with the actual /usr/sbin/s2ram binary? I thought kpowersave was related because it offered the suspend option under its menu. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

Also noticed these related entries after a failed attempt at suspending via the kpowersave "suspend to ram" selection from /var/log/messages:

Those are "mostly harmless", since this infrastructure is no longer used anyway. They probably only manifest after an update from 10.1 or earlier, this is why i don't see them here. They are also not triggered by the kpowersave suspend actions but appear on powersaved start. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
