Steps to reproduce: 1. Start firefox . 2. Visit http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/sol/newsid_4890000/newsid_4899600/4899610.stm?bw=bb&mp=rm&bbcws=1&news=1 (if you are outside the UK then http://news.bbc.co.uk/player/nol/newsid_6900000/newsid_6903100/6903113.stm?bw=bb&mp=rm&asb=1&news=1&bbcws=1 might work). Expected results: Realplayer controls to appear then video to start playing. Actual results: Realplayer controls very briefly appear then disappear. Video area and controls appear as grey rectangles. How reproducible is the problem? The problem is reproducible every time. Version information: OpenSUSE 10.3. RealPlayer-10.0.9-11 MozillaFirefox-2.0.0.10-0.1 kdebase3-SuSE-10.3-152 Additional information: Playing music using the realplay plugin on http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio/aod/index.shtml?button (UK only) also fails unless the steps outlined in #117079#c13 are done. There's no nspluginwrapper involved in this problem (and in fact SUSE 10.1 is showing the same problem on several 32 bit machines too) unless 32 bit firefox does something I don't know about... Then I tested with 32bit but Firefox 3.0b2 which is a bit different. It shows RealPlayer's controls but it doesn't work as well. Most places not offering live video have now taken to streaming it using Flash so it is going to be ludicrously difficult to find another site showing this problem (I just spent 20 minutes searching Google and being turned away from some of Real's own pages for being a Linux user). If you can't access the stream a dialog is displayed. After dismissing it the area should be grey. Playing stand alone seems to work so I believe this must be a realplayer bug for us to report upstream for the embedded plugin (since FF doesn't seem to crash either).
