The previous versions of yast at least told you how many packages were remaining and zypper gives a display of "total number of packages/how many packages installed so far" Because most of the installation time is taken up by downloading packages the total installed package size instead of the total rpm package size gives unusable information in the case of a net install or upgrade from the web.
