Up to now you had to explicitly start it in the beagle frontend. I must say this report comes quite late, given that this was already this way for kickoff in Alpha3 and for khelpcenter in Beta1. I'm not sure where we should steal the translated strings for this popup.. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=221298 ------- Comment #8 from meissner@novell.com 2006-11-16 03:15 MST ------- It is a border case. It is in effect a daemon that listens on the network (by indirectly parsing network data that you download). Anyway, since you consider it good, we leave it that way. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=221298 ------- Comment #9 from judas_iscariote@shorewall.net 2006-11-16 03:22 MST ------- the need to disable this thing by the users is so frecuent that even the IRC channel has a factoid for "disablebeagle" . I think at least the user should be asked if they want it or not at startup, dunno . anyway it is the first thing I remove after install anyway ;-) -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.

It is new for me that it is started for GNOME too.
Beagled is started under user id for GNOME since SUSE Linux 10.0. Additionally it runs via beagle-crawl-system under beagleindex user id as a daily cron job since then. Same for 10.1 and SLED 10 but additionally the beagle package got installed also by default for KDE users hence beagle-crawl-system will be run. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
