[Bug 478385] New: After accessing CIFS mounted device suspend to RAM/disk fails
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=478385 User squan@web.de added comment https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=478385#c1 Summary: After accessing CIFS mounted device suspend to RAM/disk fails Classification: openSUSE Product: openSUSE 11.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: squan@web.de QAContact: qa@suse.de Found By: Community User After accessing a CIFS mounted NAS suspend to ram or disk sometimes fails: After issuing 'powersave -u' (respectively '-U)' the suspend starts as usual with switching to console (and showing console splash with progress bar in case of '-U') but then after several seconds the system is back running. Unmounting the NAS and doing 'rmmod cifs' before suspending does not help. The pm_suspend.log looks almost identical for the suspend to RAM and suspend to disk case (Only addresses differ): 2009-02-20 08:10:59.060548889 +0100: running 'suspend'/'suspend'/'' hooks. ===== 2009-02-20 08:10:59.098911948 running hook: /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/00clear ===== ===== 2009-02-20 08:10:59.120811706 running hook: /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01logging ===== suspend initiated: Fri Feb 20 08:10:59 CET 2009 Linux galapagos 2.6.27.7-9-default #1 SMP 2008-12-04 18:10:04 +0100 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux kernel command line: 'root=/dev/disk/by-id/ata-TOSHIBA_MK3021GAS_24CP0175T-part1 resume=/dev/disk/by-id/ata-TOSHIBA_MK3021GAS_24CP0175T-part2 splash=silent vga=0x317 3' Module Size Used by nls_utf8 1612 0 cifs 234716 0 crypto_blkcipher 16800 0 aes_i586 7580 0 aes_generic 27792 1 aes_i586 ieee80211_crypt_ccmp 5132 0 i915 28016 2 drm 74980 3 i915 ip6t_LOG 6212 7 xt_tcpudp 2728 2 xt_pkttype 1560 3 ipt_LOG 5708 8 xt_limit 2056 15 xt_physdev 2220 2 af_packet 16528 0 binfmt_misc 7872 1 sco 9996 2 bridge 48012 1 stp 2248 1 bridge rfcomm 35548 4 bnep 11624 2 l2cap 20504 12 rfcomm,bnep snd_pcm_oss 43300 0 snd_mixer_oss 14288 1 snd_pcm_oss snd_seq 52248 0 snd_seq_device 7168 1 snd_seq ip6t_REJECT 4984 3 nf_conntrack_ipv6 20196 4 ip6table_raw 1792 1 xt_NOTRACK 1544 4 ipt_REJECT 2760 3 xt_state 1904 8 iptable_raw 2056 1 iptable_filter 2548 1 ip6table_mangle 2288 0 nf_conntrack_netbios_ns 2152 0 nf_conntrack_ipv4 10480 4 nf_conntrack 67376 5 nf_conntrack_ipv6,xt_NOTRACK,xt_state,nf_conntrack_netbios_ns,nf_conntrack_ipv4 ip_tables 11260 2 iptable_raw,iptable_filter ip6table_filter 2408 1 ip6_tables 12476 4 ip6t_LOG,ip6table_raw,ip6table_mangle,ip6table_filter x_tables 14416 12 ip6t_LOG,xt_tcpudp,xt_pkttype,ipt_LOG,xt_limit,xt_physdev,ip6t_REJECT,xt_NOTRACK,ipt_REJECT,xt_state,ip_tables,ip6_tables cpufreq_conservative 6324 0 cpufreq_userspace 3112 0 cpufreq_powersave 1640 0 ipv6 242864 21 ip6t_REJECT,nf_conntrack_ipv6,ip6table_mangle speedstep_centrino 5804 0 microcode 11536 0 fuse 52536 1 vfat 9764 0 fat 46376 1 vfat loop 15076 0 dm_mod 62236 0 snd_intel8x0 28680 4 snd_ac97_codec 100064 1 snd_intel8x0 pcmcia 32856 0 ac97_bus 1584 1 snd_ac97_codec snd_pcm 78852 3 snd_pcm_oss,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec ipw2100 66660 0 hci_usb 10852 0 snd_timer 21132 2 snd_seq,snd_pcm yenta_socket 22776 2 tg3 114516 0 rsrc_nonstatic 10440 1 yenta_socket ohci1394 27396 0 rtc_cmos 11344 0 snd 57408 16 snd_pcm_oss,snd_mixer_oss,snd_seq,snd_seq_device,snd_intel8x0,snd_ac97_codec,snd_pcm,snd_timer ieee80211 26656 1 ipw2100 pcmcia_core 33188 3 pcmcia,yenta_socket,rsrc_nonstatic btusb 10764 0 ieee80211_crypt 5212 2 ieee80211_crypt_ccmp,ieee80211 soundcore 6900 1 snd libphy 18976 1 tg3 ieee1394 83948 1 ohci1394 i2c_i801 10556 0 rtc_core 18048 1 rtc_cmos iTCO_wdt 10336 0 video 19992 0 irda 113140 0 shpchp 28236 0 container 3636 0 snd_page_alloc 8048 2 snd_intel8x0,snd_pcm output 2736 1 video battery 11156 0 button 6560 0 ac 4452 0 rtc_lib 2816 1 rtc_core i2c_core 29972 1 i2c_i801 dcdbas 8888 0 intel_agp 24264 1 pcspkr 2344 0 crc_ccitt 1884 1 irda bluetooth 54100 10 sco,rfcomm,bnep,l2cap,hci_usb,btusb iTCO_vendor_support 3368 1 iTCO_wdt agpgart 32408 3 drm,intel_agp pci_hotplug 27392 1 shpchp serio_raw 5092 0 joydev 9388 0 sg 29360 0 sd_mod 31424 3 crc_t10dif 1704 1 sd_mod ehci_hcd 47580 0 uhci_hcd 23672 0 usbcore 167276 5 hci_usb,btusb,ehci_hcd,uhci_hcd edd 8616 0 ext3 124684 1 mbcache 8132 1 ext3 jbd 56684 1 ext3 fan 4712 0 ide_pci_generic 3428 0 piix 5868 0 ide_core 99028 2 ide_pci_generic,piix ata_generic 4484 0 ata_piix 16292 2 libata 160884 2 ata_generic,ata_piix scsi_mod 149720 3 sg,sd_mod,libata dock 11988 1 libata thermal 19916 0 processor 43548 2 thermal thermal_sys 11364 4 video,fan,thermal,processor hwmon 3092 1 thermal_sys total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 1153160 1119420 33740 0 113352 388820 -/+ buffers/cache: 617248 535912 Swap: 2674812 5080 2669732 ===== 2009-02-20 08:10:59.139858023 running hook: /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/02rtcwake ===== rtcwake alarm not enabled in /etc/pm/config.d/rtcwake.config, doing nothing... ===== 2009-02-20 08:10:59.147273786 running hook: /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/05led ===== ===== 2009-02-20 08:10:59.154661612 running hook: /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/06autofs ===== ===== 2009-02-20 08:10:59.197681698 running hook: /usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/10NetworkManager ===== Error org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.NoReply: Did not receive a reply.
