Currently updating to Mesa 24.1.5. Nothing obvious I could spot in the changes, but who knows.
OpenQA definitively sees this as non-working https://openqa.opensuse.org/tests/overview?result=failed&result=incomplete&result=timeout_exceeded&arch=&flavor=&machine=&test=&modules=&module_re=&group_glob=¬_group_glob=&comment=&todo=1&distri=microos&distri=opensuse&version=Tumbleweed&build=20240802&groupid=1# The number of vlc failures (all showing only half the test image) implies this is not solved.
